A Foundation in Compassionate Care
I am a second-generation nurse who grew up witnessing the power of compassionate, attentive care to transform lives. That early experience shaped my belief that true wellness comes from honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
In my practice, I focus on helping individuals recognize how thoughts, daily habits, and intentional lifestyle choices can empower meaningful change. My goal is to create a supportive, grounded environment where small, sustainable steps lead to greater balance, confidence, and long-term well-being.
Integrated Medical & Psychiatric Training
I am board-certified as both an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. This dual training allows me to bridge physical health with emotional and mental well-being.
I understand how symptoms in the body can affect mood, how stress influences physical health, and how thoughts and emotions shape overall wellness. This integrated perspective guides a balanced, whole-person approach to care.
Experience with Older Adults & Dementia Care
For more than 15 years, I have worked closely with older adults, gaining deep appreciation for the medical, emotional, and cognitive changes that accompany aging.
I am a certified Dementia Care Specialist (CDCS) and have specialized training in supporting individuals living with memory loss and the families who care for them.
My approach is centered on meeting each person where they are — honoring their history, strengths, and values while recognizing the essential role that caregivers and family members play in the healing process.
In my work, I focus on:
• Supporting patients through physical, emotional, and behavioral changes with patience and compassion
• Helping families feel more prepared and less overwhelmed through education and guidance
• Protecting dignity and quality of life by focusing on what remains meaningful and possible at every stage
My Approach to Care
I believe psychiatric care should be thoughtful, steady, and individualized. Every person’s story matters. Treatment should never feel rushed or impersonal.
By maintaining a limited patient panel, I am able to offer extended visits, careful follow-up, and personalized treatment planning designed around each individual’s goals.
🌿Wellness as a Thoughtful Approach to Mental Health
Wellness is more than the absence of symptoms. It reflects balance across the interconnected areas of life that shape our daily experience and long-term well-being.
At Adirondacks Family Wellness & Psychiatry, we view mental health through a whole-person lens. Emotional health is influenced not only by biology, but also by sleep, relationships, environment, purpose, and daily structure.
A wellness-based approach considers:
• Physical health — movement, sleep, nutrition, preventive care
• Emotional health — stress regulation, coping skills, self-awareness
• Social connection — relationships, support systems, sense of belonging
• Purpose & meaning — values, goals, identity, personal grounding
• Environment — safety, stability, surroundings
• Work & financial stability — balance, satisfaction, security
When these areas are aligned and supported, mental health becomes more sustainable.
🌿How Our Approach Differs
Traditional medical models often ask:
“What is wrong, and how do we treat it?”
A wellness model also asks:
“What is strong, and how do we build on it?”
Key differences include:
• Prevention over reaction — building healthy foundations before problems escalate
• Strengths over symptoms — recognizing what is working, not only what is broken
• Collaboration over direction — partnering in care rather than prescribing from a distance
• Whole-life context — understanding that mental health is shaped by lifestyle, relationships, and environment
This approach supports long-term stability rather than short-term symptom management alone.
🌿The Benefits of a Wellness-Based Model
A comprehensive wellness approach can:
• Improve overall quality of life
• Reduce stress and burnout
• Support sustainable behavioral change
• Strengthen resilience
• Reduce reliance on crisis-driven care
🌿A Concierge-Level Model of Care
Adirondacks Family Wellness & Psychiatry operates on a limited-panel model. This means we intentionally maintain a smaller number of patients in order to provide:
• Extended appointment times
• Direct communication access
• Greater continuity of care
• Thoughtful, individualized treatment planning
Our goal is not volume — it is depth.
This approach allows us to practice psychiatry in a way that is attentive, responsive, and relationship-centered.
